This is the only way a caravan makes sense…

The Latest budget accommodation concept in Berlin is Hüttenpalast. The idea brought over by Silke Lorenzen and Sarah Vollmer. Hüttenpalast, or Hut Palace, is a small hotel in the Neukölln neighborhood in southern Berlin. It is basically located in their formal vacuum cleaner factory which is now being converted into a hotel having renovated campsite caravans. The rates are very much in budget as they start from thirty Euros per night and the rooms gives an outdoor stay aura which is unlikely to get in the midst of a bustling city like Berlin.

Stunning location but at $1,000 to $3,600 per night, I’m not sure I’ll be seeing it anytime soon!

Opened in October 2009 and designed by Rick Joy, Wendell Burnette & Marwan Al-Sayed, the 34 room luxury hotel is tucked into a protected valley with sweeping views over colourful, stratified rock towards the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument.

Situated amid the pristine scenery of the Swiss Alps, and with stunning mountain views in every direction, The Cambrian offers the kind of location that tense desk huggers the world over spend their days dreaming about. Whether you’re here for the unsurpassed skiing on the slopes of the Bernese Oberland, to fill your lungs with all that clear, snow-tinged air in the forests and cow-flecked pastures of the surrounding hillsides, or simply to indulge in the hotel’s high-end dining or unwind in its award-winning spa, you’re sure to leave Adelboden in a relaxed and rejuvenated state. Just look at the cows reclining in the meadows outside. They don’t look stressed?

The project is comprised of two buildings: a hotel and an event warehouse.   For the hotel, Neri & Hu created 19 rooms, with a rooftop bar and a restaurant.  Interestingly, the private and public spaces are switched –  ”Guests grazing through the buildings public areas are granted vantage points into private space, while guests taking respite in what would conventionally be secluded space are able to observe the public realm while doing so.”

Lovely relaxing design, looks like it’s worth checking out…

I recently got back from a mini Vegas vacation and had a wonderful time. I stayed at the Palms Place Hotel & Spa for the second time in a row and think I have a new favorite Vegas Spa as well. While all the amenities at the Spa are very nice, the Hammam is absolutely exquisite. The Hammam encompasses the age old traditions of Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco and Spain, and combines these traditional elements with a magnificent and innovative use of design and technology.
