This amazing set of photos from the Beatles first US tour recently sold for r $360,000, beating the predicted $100,000 by a large margin. The photo above was expected to sell for $2000-3000 and finished at $68,000!

It was 1964. Just 18 at the time, Mike Mitchell decided he would snap photos of the Beatles when they arrived in Washington D.C. from New York, then he would follow them to their news conference and to their concerts.

For more than 40 years, Mitchell stored the negatives in a box in his basement until several years ago, when he decided to digitize his archive. Why did he finally take them out of hiding? Like many, Mitchell was hit hard by the recession and housing crisis.

Amazing, Blackgold have done it again, doubling up their dual tuner Freeview HD card in the same space, to give you 4 HD stream capable tuners for Windows Media Center or DVBLink. Very tempting, I can’t wait to see the price…

The world’s smallest  and only (quad DVB-T/T2) half height card design enables this product to grace even the smallest and sleekest entertainment PC’s. Giving 4 simultaneous HD terrstrial streams from a single low profile card.

A good idea, although it will make you look like a complete tool of a tourist, so use with care…

‘simple and innovative, it can carry books, workbooks, pads and especially guidebooks. it allows the user to keep the book close at hand with the hands free and to never lose the book or the page. in tram or on the orient express, you can use it everywhere. showing the cover of your new bag, you will tell something about you.’

If you’re in the US and looking for a CableCARD based solution for Windows Media Center, this looks like a seriously good product…

The Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 is a dual tuner CableCARD device that will connect to your Windows 7 Media Center PC via USB. Being USB could be a huge incentive to those who are craving CableCARD for their home theater PC (HTPC) but perhaps don’t have the room for an internal card (such as Ceton’s InfiniTV 4) in a small form factor PC. Hauppauge has priced the dual tuner device at a paltry $129! That is $120 less than the three-tuner SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime, and $170 less than the four-tuner Ceton InfiniTV 4.

Here’s Sony’s latest hybrid compact/SLR style camera, the NEX-7. Interesting to see how that OLED viewfinder performs and how the battery hold up under all the electronic demand…

As you know the NEX-7 will feature the same A77 24 Megapixel sensor and a 3 million dot OLED EVF (it is not a hybrid viewfinder!). It has the Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 attached (but that is also a prototype). The camera should cost around $1.200.
