The Sycamore Arch Bench is just one of Adrian Swinstead’s creation involving trees and other materials and the whole collection is up for display at the gallery in Redchurch Street in London.

Such a pretty jewellery box…

Piilo means “a place of concealment” in Finnish. Inside the bold and organic form there is a special space for you to put prized possessions such as heirloom cufflinks or your engagement ring. Created by Giorgio Vigna, a renowned sculptor and jewellery designer, Piilo will protect and honour the treasures you place within it.

Helix Spire was a temporary sculptural play toy, a climbing tower, a lookout 25 feet above the ground. Mundane materials were used in a clever way to build a modest climbing toy which provided a good view and a point of reference for gathering and play.

Paneling tends to get badmouthed quite a bit. I think it is because it reminds people of bad basement renovations where faux wood walls enclosed already too-dark rooms, making a not-so-great space even worse.

To counteract some of that bad mojo, we thought we’d share a few photos from a Dwell feature that show off a really beautiful use of paneling in a home in Canada. A cedar hallway links the bedroom to the great room, creating a warm and cozy passage between two buildings.

Gorgeous office, amazing chairs and one super long hacked Ikea table…

For his perfect home office setup, Tom needed a total of three desks. He planned on merging two desks to form a bigger desk for his computer workstation. Another desk would be used for work that didn’t involve computers. This actually makes a lot of sense, especially if you have enough room for this to work.
